SCCM Package – Diamond 3.2g

I’m making a series of posts describing the package creation process for the applications my current lab image. This post is about Diamond 3.2g.

Info on Licensing

This software licenses itself through a file placed in the program directory named “yourlicense.lic”. This file should be provided by your diamond dealer.

Process

  1. Download the latest version of the diamond installer from the website above.
  2. Create a script named “Make-Shortcuts_Diamond.ps1″ that creates the Casa XPS shortcuts. For help creating a shortcut script see my previous blog post “Creating Shortcuts for SCCM Packages“.
    Use the following parameters:
    Target Path: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Diamond 3\Diamond.exe”
    Shortcut Name: Diamond 3.lnk
  3. Create a batch file named “Install-Diamond.cmd” with the following contents:
    REM Main Install
    "Diamond-Demo-Setup-32g.exe" /s /v/qn

    REM License
    xcopy yourlicense.lic "%programfiles(x86)%\Diamond 3" /Y

    REM Shortcuts
    powershell -noprofile -command "& {$a = get-executionpolicy;If((get-executionpolicy) -ne 'Unrestricted'){set-executionpolicy unrestricted -force;}; .\Make-Shortcuts_Diamond.ps1; set-executionpolicy $a}"
    del /q "%userprofile%\desktop\Diamond 3.2.lnk"
    rmdir /s /q "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Diamond 3"

    REM Associations
    assoc .dsf=DiamondDocument
    assoc .diamdoc=DiamondDocument
    assoc .ds1=DiamondDocument
    ftype DiamondDocument="C:\Program Files (x86)\Diamond 3\Diamond.exe" "%%1"
  4. Assemble yourlicense.lic, the diamond installer, the batch file, and the shortcut script into a single source directory. Then, create an SCCM package. The run action of the package’s program should be “Install-Diamond.cmd”.  The following is a screen shot of my final source folder.

Hope this helps! John.
